A player is having problems playing Secret Files: Tunguska on a widescreen. So I ask one developper of the game for a solution.
This is his answer:
Regarding widescreens you have two options in SFT: use 1024x768 (which will get distorted if the display has another native resolution) or use the native resolution of the display but then SFT will not fill the whole screen. No more is possible for SFT.
But, in SF2 this issue will be handled better. The game will support, every resolution above or equal to 1024x768, including widescreen. So yes, it will look *great* at 1680x1050 and the whole screen area will be used. We did not do this for SFT since this feature is not as easy to do as one may assume. In fact looking at the fact that nearly no 2.5D adventure offers more than one screen resolution shows that there are some technical difficulties that are not easily resolved.
Since this feature and the official "require configuration" is still under testing, he couln'd tell me right now the official requierments. But I think that we should be prepare for one higher than SFT.
